only an english signature keeps me from NCLEX exam

Published

:( hi, everyone, i had a very nasty NCLEX exam experience in Hongkong 2 days ago and i posted it here to remind those who will take NCLEX exam no to make the same mistake as mine!

I arrived the Hongkong test center on time with my ATT and my passport after amolst 4-month-preparation. The TA there looked at my passport and told me that i was not allowed to take the exam that day only becuase my signature was in Chinese!!! Actually,I noticed this before but I did not realize this will be the problem to keep me away from the exam. My passport was issued in 2002 before I went to the State to see my husband and I signed my name on the last page in Chinese, it was quite big--that's why I did not sign it again in English since there is not enough room for another signture and I wanted to keep it neat. I simply thought if it is not okey for the exam, I can sign it in test center. Anyway, it is my signture and I can sign it anytime. I did immediately sign it in English after being told that was not alright for the exam. But the TA said she could not let me take the exam no mater what, she said I need to sign it before I enter the test center!!! My heart stopped at that moment, I could not stop crying. The TA told me my passport will be ok for the exam next time but not this time and it is the rule! I can't see any differece of my English signture I signed in test ceter in my passport between this time to next time? I am frustrated right now and have to register again to schedule my exam. I paid the exam fee again yesterday and now have been waiting for my ATT.:crying2:

I wish you guys a good luck in your exams and don't forget to check your English signature in your passport before entering the test center!!

The TA told me I am not the only one in this situation, it has happens before. some candidates had to fly back to their cuntries to arrange next exam. Am I lucky in this point since I am living in Hongkong?:angryfire

O, my...! I went and checked my signature immediately. There is no difference between the signature in English and in my language... Thanx God u r living in Hong KOng.

Dont let what happen put u down. Be sure u paid a big price for this experience, but u prevented others from doing this mistake by sharing ur experience. Thank u again and Good Luck!

My sister want to take NCLEX_RN test in Hong Kong, thank u for your esperience. Do u know a chinese from mainland can take this test in Hong Kong?how to do it?

thank u very much.

If I not mistaken, you will still need to get a visa for Hong Kong. Don't you normally still need to do that to go and visit there? What ever you need to get for a routine visit there is what you will need.

dear

I am Chinese nurse too . I will have the examination . I want to know if it is right if my signature is only in English . :kiss  :smiley_aa :smiley_aa

hi, oopopnon,

from my point of view, if you only have english signature in your passport, it will be fine. but you know what, why don't you call the test center to check it out. i believe it is better you get everything clear before entering the test center. by the way, what date is your test day? good luck!!!
