Ok so I have a friend...no realy i do.

He is from England but is now, and has lived in Thailand for 6years.

And has been out the nursing field for the same amount of time.

Back in england He graduated fromThe Florence Nightingale School

of Nursing at King's College London. He worked as a mental health nurse for about 5 years after graduating. He's a good friend of mine and want to come out and live and work in the U.S. (Los Angeles to be specific). Can anyone out there help out...what is needed for a u.k. nurse to come work in the u.s.? I know that question is a bit broad and maybe vague, but I 'd appreciate any opinions and/or questions.

They have to go thru the entire licensing and immigration process. Go to the International forum and there are more than a dozen stickies at the top of the page.

Working as an International nurse in the US has a completely different set of requirements that the nurse need to go thru.

I am moving your thread to the International Forum where you and your friend will find all of the information that you are looking for.

But the biggest issue will be if his curriculum qualifies for the US, it will depend on what type of curriculum that he was in while he was in school. Mental Health nurses usually are required to make up the other hours in Maternity and General Adult Medical.
