Can anyone share recent 2018 experiences with California BON processing for RN endorsement? I recently submitted an application(5th week) and am anxious to know others experience with BON. I will be moving to SoCal this summer hoping I will have my RN license activated by CA BON. Thanks in advance.

I had my license in another state, and applied for CA license by endorsement on December 7th, 2017. I received my CA license on March 13th, 2018, so just a few days short of 14 weeks. When I initially applied, CABON listed the processing times as 12 - 14 weeks so I'd say their predictions are fairly accurate.
I did call BON when it was during my processing window to verify all of my materials were received. I would recommend doing this, as I have heard from people in the past that documents have gone missing. Be prepared to stay on hold for over an hour when calling.
Also, I applied for temporary license, but never received it. In fact, as I tracked the processing time, it was always within a week of my permanent license. Based on my experience, I really do not think it's worth the extra $50 to apply for a temp license.
Hope this helps, and that it is a smooth and speedy process for you!

Oops that was supposed to be - March 13, 2018 not 2017 that I received it!
Thank you for your info. I did call BRN- thankfully someone answered. BRN received everything I sent but my Bachelor's degree transcript, however BRN rep said, there is no problem since I am a registered nurse in Illinois, he doesn't feel it's needed. But I still resent it via email. Rep said, it shouldn't be to long to see my license show up in Ca system. Praise God for that.
Okay, I received my California license in less than 8 weeks. Yey- and California BRN representatives are very attentive based on my experience. I called twice during my processing time period: both times they are very patient and helpful. Good luck to all! í ½í¹í ¼í¿½ God Bless

Congrats!! I am wondering if you had taken any communication courses.
Hello ORRNCA, thank you. I took all communication classes during my BSN program. Do you have any specific question(s) that maybe I can answer? Good luck

Hello, ILRNBSNtoCARNBSN:
Were you international graduate student for the coursework? Or, did you study in US?
Thank you,

Hi everyone, I am a nursing student in DC and want to move back to my parents in CA after graduation. Is it allowed to work in my current state while waiting for my CA license to be endorsed? Or do I have to be physically present in CA during the process? Thank you!
