Endo Travel

Hi guys,

I've been a member on this site for about 10 yrs. (?). Evidently I lurked too long without posting & I got booted off. I had to reset my password & set a new account. LOL.

My kids are 19 & 22 now & in college full time. They'll both be getting their own apartments this Fall so I'd like to start travel nursing (probably around Feb '16).

I've been an RN x25 yrs. but I've been doing GI now x16 yrs. I wouldn't mind doing some med/surg but I've been away so long I don't know how marketable I'd be in that field anymore.

So I was wondering....have any of you done travel nursing for endoscopy, specifically? Are there enough positions available to keep me busy? I won't ask what agencies you'd recommend (I've scrolled around this forum & it seems that topic has been beat to death!) but I have found, in my own research, that the smaller, more well-reviewed companies don't have much available in the way of endoscopy openings. Unfortunately, it's the bigger companies that seem to have more.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts!

Thanks,

Amy :)

Endo travel assignments are available from a variety of agencies, including small ones, but of course large agencies have more reliable availability. Endo also has been in demand for some time and bill rates are surprisingly high. Even crisis rates in places. Kind of like OR, if you don't have staff, the facility misses out on a lot of revenue. Hold out for good pay! It should be substantially better than medsurg pay.
