I have an employment question specifically for Broward College Dec 08 and May 09 graduates, who are Broward Health Scholarship recipients: Were you able to find a job in a Broward Health Facility?
I hear that many new grad RNs are having trouble finding jobs in S. FL. I'm assuming that the scholarship helps. Am I wrong in this assumption?
Thanks.

The scholarships do help in obtaining your first job, but from the classmates that I have known, some got jobs very fast, and some waited a little bit-- with the scholarships.
those who did not have scholarships, got jobs- but in med/surg or another area where they did not want to be. All got jobs- some new grads find it difficult to get a job, because they may be looking in a specific specialty of work, like ER, ICU or whatever-- they end up being too picky.
I say, apply everywhere, get your experience and then look for something better.
I wish you the best!!
did you graduate already??
