Emory RN Residency Summer/Fall 2016

Published

Hi!

I graduate May 2016 and was wondering if anyone happen to know when Emory healthcare was opening their RN residency application for summer or fall of 2016?

Well a couple things--make sure you do your research on the hospital you want/unit you're interested in. Be prepared for why you would want to work there, but mainly prepare for situation/behavioral based questions. Google examples of these and then prepare answers for each. For example they asked me "tell me about a time you went above and beyond. what did you do and what was the outcome." another was "tell me about a challenging clinical day, what happened, what did you do and what was the outcome?" If you can get your senior practicum/clinical in that area you're apply for too that looks good too. Good luck!!

I wish I knew what they are looking for in a new grad resident; given there are so many applicants, I would want to know for when I apply next year

What area did you apply for?

I interviewed with Midtown and received pre-employment forms a few hours ago. There were a ton of people interviewed so they are probably still letting people know so I wouldn't give up hope just yet.

Okay, thanks girl! (:

I interviewed with the NICU manager

Did you guys just receive the two forms or the reference request or both?

Congrats! I guess that's a no for me

So did I, so I guess that's a no for me.

Before I left I asked how many positions there were and unfortunately they told me only one NICU spot, 2 for L&D and I think 4 for MB

Yeah I asked as well. Oh well. I'm moving on. I do have a few more interviews coming up. Congrats to those of you who were accepted!

Good luck with everything coming up!!

Do not discount Emory yet. After I interviewed, I spoke with Ms. Harris whom is over Human Resources. She advised me that anyone who was not hired for the area they interviewed for would go back into "the pot" (my wording not hers lol) and would receive an invitation to interview again for any areas that had not been filled. So, if you want Emory and do not care about the unit specifically then keep that in mind. While there is no guarantee, there is a possibility and you could apply for a transfer after a year.

I interviewed at Midtown and have received nothing either. Now 2 people in my class received offers but they both were St. Josephs.

Of the 3 people you know who got calls/offers at st. josephs, do you know what areas they got called for? I'm getting anxious now
