Emory Midtown potential PCT job..

Okay I know this site primarily for RNs and LPNs, however I know there are some CNAs/PCTs here. :) *woop woop*

Haha thought I'd start off with a joke...

Okay I moved to GA from NY in hopes of starting a new life and so far it has been great. I had an interview last week at Emory Midtown on Unit 61. The position is for a 7p-730a PCT. I believe the interview went great and I have a great feeling about everything. I havent heard from my recruiter who said she'd be in contact with me. I'm not worried as I'm sure she's busy with other interviews.

My question is : Are there specific dates for Emory's orientation?

I feel this could be the reason for the delay. I just want to know something, hear something to know that I got the job. Does anyone here work there that could let me know if there are any specific dates coming up for PCT orientation? It would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day!

I had a friend who seemed to be in a similar situation as you with Emory-Midtown (or was it CHOA, I forget). They seem to be very thorough with their job applicants... the reason it took so long for my friend was that they were actually calling/confirming with all of his references before the final decision. Turns out that for my friend, he wasn't hired for the job because one of his references (for some reason) didn't give them a good recommendation because of something my friend did (which my friend says was not true) so hopefully you put down reliable references who won't screw you over like they did my friend.

I've also applied for PCT jobs but then I'm a new CNA grad with no clinical experience so no hospitals seem to want me. I'm good at what I do and was told by my CNA instructor (who is a RN) that I will be a great healthcare worker but that's hard for employers to realize about you when you're submitting applications online. I'm also beginning nursing school next fall so I'm not just a CNA for money. I'm very dedicated and hardworking. How much experience do you have, just out of curiosity?

Good luck! :)

If you are close to Griffin, Ga Spalding hires new CNA's. THe pay is low and it's alot of work but you get great exp.!

Unfortunately I live an hour away from Griffin. Thanks for the tidbit though. I actually got some job leads once I started looking into non-hospital jobs. I figure I'll take whatever place I can get my foot in first since I'll be getting experience at a hospital once I start nursing school in six months anyways.

Hello sorry for the major delay. I became certified in July 2008 and have been working since September 2008 until January 2010 in a hospital.
