Hello sorry for the major delay. I became certified in July 2008 and have been working since September 2008 until January 2010 in a hospital.

Okay I know this site primarily for RNs and LPNs, however I know there are some CNAs/PCTs here. :) *woop woop* Haha thought I'd start off with a joke... Okay I moved to GA from NY in hopes of starting a new life and so far it has been great. I had an interview last week at Emory Midtown on Unit 61. The position is for a 7p-730a PCT. I believe the interview went great and I have a great feeling about everything. I havent heard from my recruiter who said she'd be in contact with me. I'm not worried as I'm sure she's busy with other interviews. My question is : Are there specific dates for Emory's orientation? I feel this could be the reason for the delay. I just want to know something, hear something to know that I got the job. Does anyone here work there that could let me know if there are any specific dates coming up for PCT orientation? @csweetooth - Will you be working at Piedmont Newnan Hospital? If so, we may be in the same orientation class.

Hi. Not sure if I can help you with this information. I just took my testing on 7/14/08 and passed!!! Okay so I took the course the the EOC (Educational Opportunity Center) out here in Long Island but they have a branch in the Bronx. (Though I'm not sure if they have the CNA course there) But if you're not far from Long Island, I would HIGHLY recommend my professor, Mrs. G! She IS THE BEST! She pushes you so much and I really appreciate her. And YES IT'S FREE. I'm glad I found out about this place because I couldn't see paying all that ridiculous amount of money. The course is about 8-9 weeks long. 4 weeks in class 2-3 weeks in clinical 1 week in class to review And that next week or same week (depending when your testing is scheduled) you will have you written and clinical exams. GOOD LUCK!
