Emily Griffith Technical College Fail or Success? I Think Faliure...

Published

Hola fellow Denverites, or whatever we want to be called. At the moment I would warn against Emily Griffith. We started the new class year with hope and expectations, those expectations have been bashed against the tidal rocks of uncertainty and trepidation.

From the third week of our program our DON has stepped down and went to another school, we had no teachers for several of our classes and we were just scared and confused.

At the moment the remaining instructors are trying their best to provide a sense of normalcy, and I will admit trying their best to get us through this program. I admire their perseverance and dedication but as our clinical days wane and our knowledge does not increase in a clinical sense I am left to wonder, Is this program worth it? Again I want to reiterate that the instructors and intern DON are fantastic and doing their best but is their best good enough?

Success in this type of program is not measured by test scores or CNA work on a clinical with nothing from fundamentals, it is measured by the competency of the nurses it graduates or does not graduate.

My greatest fear is that with all the turmoil associated with this program ATM it will leave us as future nurses ill equipped to handle the tasks of caring...and that is the watch word "caring". I got into this business if you want to call it that, to care for people and to be an advocate for my patient. I am just so scared that I will not have the knowledge to care for my patient correctly when I graduate from Emilly Griffith. I am truly afraid.

Hello Newbie789. As a recent graduate of the class is concerned I would like to say just one Name, -------------.

I know that if you are still in the class you know what that means. She is the one that saved our class and accreditation and also made us better Nurses.

You are right, the previous administration helped a bit, but when all is said and done ----------- got us through our first semester. Hell she got us through the second semester also. She was caring, kind, knowledgeable, and fantastic. You may not know this but she was doing the work of three teachers. It makes me mad that others do not know or acknowledge that. -------- is a fantastic teacher and person.

To those of you considering Emily Griffith Technical College, count yourselves lucky if -------------- is still part of the faculty.

Although I know this is an old post. It is an error. All I can say is that as a recent graduate you can have no better instructor's or experience as you would at Emily Griffith Technical College. To ------------ I will say TY, to ------------ I guess ty I guess and can I get another shot.
