Hi i have just been offered a job in the ER of St Francis Hospital on Woodland street in Hartford, CT

Has anyone or does anyone work there that would be able to tell me anything about it Nurse to Patient ration friendliness of the staff what it would be like leaving to get a bus at 11pm or do they have easy cab access.

Is there a transport scheme to get you home if you dont have a car like i dont at the minute.

How many patients does it see in a year general sort of stuff and what hartford is like as a place would be really helpful

Thanks a lot

Hi,

My friend works at St. Francis. She loves it there and has made tons of close friends from the staff. Not positive on the patient to staff ratio or exact figures. She says it's a wonderful hospital, plus she makes good money there. In my opinion, that part of Hartford isn't all too bad. The state has been working really hard to clean the city up in the last couple of years. However, I don't think going out at 11pm to catch the bus would be a good idea, unless you would be with a group of people. Melanie

wow thanks that makes it easier i may be able to get a taxi or share one with someone hope to get a car sometime too

Fiddlesticks,

I'm familiar with St. Francis as I had to take many of my patients there for treatment. Very nice hospital and the nurses I met did not show signs of apathy/burnout like I see some places.

If I may ask, are you accepting a travel nurse assigment contract or are you signing on as a full- time/part-time St. Francis Hospital staff member?
