Advice...

Alright, work with me here., because I have full intentions of becoming a nurse...just not right now.

Right now, I've been drawn into the world of respiratory therapy. Since I'm going to school for RT in fall, I really don't want to work as a CNA for 2 years while earning my AAS in Resp. Care Technology for the simple fact that it wouldn't really benefit me toward becoming an RT since the scope of CNA/RN is very different from RRT.

My questions come to this...

1. What cancan't an EMT-B do in comparison to EMT-intermediate and EMT-P? How much do they make on avg?

2. Considering flight RT...would the EMT-B even help with this or would I need EMT-P?

3. Would it do any good to be certified as an EMT-B while going to school for resp therapy for 2 years full time? I couldn't do 24 on, 48 off.

I wouldn't mind working as a Tech in an ER though. I know the pay isn't much more than I make as a CNA but I am interested in trauma and critical care. Ever since I volunteered in a Level II Trauma Center at 14, I then knew I wanted to go into the medical field and specialiaze in emergency med or ICU.
