Elevation of extremities to alleviate acute pain?

My classmate told me about this info. He said about the pain receptors would not be activate if we elevate the extremities especially when the pain is on the extremities itself.

I am confused about this thing. Is there someone here could explain to me the about it??

please I really need it for our case presentation this friday.

All year levels will watch us and the head of the nursing department. Please help me..:o

here goes.... pain receptors can be activated by pressure, fluid builds up due to inflammation and builds excess pressure, therefore elevating extremities helps to drain excess fluid and therefore alleviate excess pressure and inhibit activation of pain receptors

just my quick thougts on the matter, could be wrong

Thanks for the response! He also said about nocireceptor? sorry for asking I'm so newbie in it.

I got your point. But I'm still finding the much deeper explanation maybe that includes about what's happening inside our body.

I really want to thank you in responding.

noriceptor = pain receptor

check back to your ANP book and review the physiology of receptors and inflammation and you should get more details that could take it more in depth
