Hi! Now that the packets are out and the deadline is fast approaching, I thought Id start a feed for the Spring 2014 class. After taking my HESI the max points I will have is 29.

The new system is 40 points so lets post our stats so we can have an idea of how our chances look!

Good luck everyone!!

I am having a hard time understanding the required classes? Is college algebra the math or has t changed to stats? Did u take the HPRS course in person or online?

HPRS has a lab that you have to attend, and the other course work is online. They pre-reqs to apply now are HPRS 1204, PSYCH 2301 and ENG 1301. There is no math requirement but you have to meet TSI status.

You get extra points for your HESI scores, GPA, and support courses completed.

HPRS 1204 is not a pre req. You get 3 points for taking it towards your application. The required courses are A&P, English I, and Psych. The application packet is on the site and has the pre req. courses listed and the breakdown of the point system.

I am sooo confused. Everything I have looked at has HRPS as a prerequisite and some show college algebra but there show stats. Geez... How confusing!! If it is not a prereq then forget that. I work as a tech and have a yr experience with hands on pt care. I need to recheck I guess

joshsmother- here is a link to the revised 2014 Spring application. It has everything you need to know:

HPRS isnt a pre req anymore but you get 3 points if you have taken it. You can earn points by other completed courses too. Hope this helps!

Yep! Went and looked. Blah....

...how did everyone do on the HESI A2?...

With the new points system, I have 33 out of the 40 possible points. I don't think there will be many people applying who already have the new classes added to the list of classes going towards the BSN like the Chem I & principles of nutrition. Also I wonder how many have already taken HPRS 1202...

I have decided to apply to THR's partner program with El Centro. Makes sense and I feel like I can get in on the first try. Then I will bridge to BSN at UTA.

Shawnswife- your points are very competitive!! How exciting :-)

Joshsmother-I have a friend who is currently in the program through THR and she is doing great!

I don't feel like my points are as competitive as I'd like, so ill just be crossing my fingers and seeing what happens. I was sure not to put all my eggs in one basket and applied to 2 other schools along with el centro. It's gonna be a long couple months of waiting!!!!!

That gives me hope. Schools keep changing things so I decided to go this route. Seems like a great way to turn a foot in the into a long term career place.
