is there any of you out there? :lol2:

BSN program getting ready to start my junior year...LOVING IT SO FAR!!

You should be fine. I think people under a 3.0 are the ones who need to worry.

Well I just completed my first semester of foundation courses (NSC 232, 242 and 252) at EKU and it KILLED me! I know I'm not getting into the BSN program. The med math tests at Eastern are what kill most people...they don't allow calculators (unlike most other nursing schools). I'm looking at ADN programs at Midway, BCTC and Campbellsville now.

I know that this post is super old, but I saw there were a lot of EKU students here so I wanted to post my question. So I applied to the ADN program at EKU, i was told that the acceptance letters would be sent out by the first week of April. Seeing todays date, they have already been sent out. My question is, is there a way to find out if you got in online, like through the online student portal? I am asking because thats how I found out I got into the college about a week before I got my letter. My current GPA, classes taken, assigned advisor, and everything where already showing, and the acceptance letter was available to view as well.

Hello,

My name is Mia. I will be moving to kentucky in April of 2017 and will be entering into EKU in August. I am a nursing transfer student from a private school in ohio. I have completed two years of nursing already. I will be starting in the second year second semester courses. I already have the first semester credits and first semester of second year. I have heard so many bad things about EKU and how difficult it is. People have been saying the professors only pass the BEST of the BEST. I have always struggled in school and defiantly have to work super hard for my grades. Can anyone give me some pointers on what to expect and which classes are the hardest? Or should I look at a different school that might be a little less challenging. My biggest struggle was med surge at my previous school. Also does anyone have any study tips to help me succeed. I will be married by that time and getting our first house together so Im afraid its going to be too much pressure on me.

Specializes in ICU, Military.

Hey miar12 - I am an EKU graduate (BSN 2003). Their nursing program is difficult, but you will be WELL prepared for the NCLEX. We had a 100% pass rate in our class and they have a very high rate of success in all their nursing programs. I am applying to their FNP program for Fall 2017 and fingers crossed i get in :)

One thing that truly helped me succeed in their program was FLASHCARDS!!! MAKE THEM!! and study them. They help so much in my opinion! Good luck!
