I had one contract there on the cardiac floor. They give you the PBDS test. Staff very nice. Human resource and the people who do orientation not friendly. I rented a room from someone and left before it got hot there. They have called asking if I will come back but I was in a contract at the time. I enjoyed it.
Hi,
I'm currently at Eisenhower. Lots of travelers here. So far, so good. I'm on one of their many tele units. Friendly staff. I float a fair amount (not too much) and so far only among the other tele units and once to MS. The pay is good, and they have no problem with overtime. I am on a 13 week assignment there and am extending on a month to month basis. They also have 4 week contracts.
I must say, it is a completely different experience working for a well funded hospital! PBDS was not bad. They do their own 'grading' and they seem fair. I have not heard of travelers being sent home for not 'passing'. Be careful with housing. A lot of companies try to place you in Palm Springs, but I find it more convenient to live in Palm Desert. The staff on my unit has been really friendly...actually a fun crowd! Since I have been here, they have thrown going away parties for two of their 13 week travelers at the end of their assignments. How nice!

Hubby and I are thinking of taking an assignment here...any opinions? I'm also wondering what the stipend is like. We've been getting REALLY lowballed on our past assignments, so I now know the company can give me a lot more than what they initially approach with. Where Eisenhower is a private pay hospital, though, I wasn't sure how that would factor in. Actually, just an idea of ANY stipend amts for the Palm Springs area would be appreciated.
