I am not a Fall student yet, I am still "pre-nursing" finishing up my pre reqs and some of the classes I need for my BSN while Im at it, I suppose Im dragging my feet in applying to the program for fear of rejection, or changes to my current schedule (Working full time and have 2 little ones) regardless Im slowly plugging away at classes. Currently taking Sociology at Collier Campus for Summer B, just finished Comp II. In the Fall I am taking speech, intro to spanish (I didnt take 2 years in H.S.) and a stupid Intro to BIO class they now require since I took Marine Bio in highschool. Im tossing around the idea of retaking the nutrition class again - I did it online last summer and got a C and it is really dragging my GPA down and every point counts, anyone know if they hold it against you for retaking a class, and what the point deduction is if you do?
Have you already applied? Are you at the Collier, Lee or Charlotte Campus?
I don't think they hold it against you, although you will have to pay out of state rates to retake a class that you passed with a C. I applied for Lee/ day program. I have also taken most of my gen eds for my BSN. I just need spanish and statistics. Have you taken the hesi yet? I would take that first before retaking nutrition, you might get enough points without retaking a class. Good luck to you!
i have not, and the more i have been thinking about it today the more i have realized i should get the practice books and study for it so i can take it right after a & p 1 (which i have heard you should take before taking the hesi? yes/no?) that way if my score is to low i can retake it a second time, and if i still score low, i have a year to wait out before i can try again so in that year i can knock out a & p 2 and micro.
i wonder, if i only study for the hesi will that prep me for the teas, i have read some who thought it was harder than the hesi and others who thought the teas were easier? since i plan to apply for both edison and fgcu (possibly depending on if i finish up all of the co-requisites for the bsn program) i will have to test for both of them separately
h~
I agree with patriotmd almost all the questions were from A&P 2. So it's best to wait until you take it before taking the hesi. I'm not sure about the Teas test if it is harder or not. I only studied the hesi review book and scored above a 90 on it. Just try and get A's on the remainder of your classes, to help bring up your GPA.
