Hello,
I would like to know who is applying to the Edison State College(lee or collier campus) Fall or Summer program for 2010.
And has anyone taken the HESI exam? if so, how was it.
Also, I would like to know how competitive the Basic program is, and any other information will be appreciated.
Again this for the BASIC Nursing program, Thanks

Hi! I am actually applying for the Summer program for Lee. I am taking my HESI on Friday and am going to attend the pre-nursing orientation either Friday or Monday on Lee campus. I have no idea how competitive it is but I do know they score you on a point system. Have you heard anything else about it? I am dying to get into the Summer program! Do you know when classes start for summer??
well, I have heard of the point system, but that's about it.
I want to apply for the Summer Program, but I didn't register for the HESI in time. The lady told me she would call me if anyone didn't show up for the HESI exam. But I am definitely applying to the Fall program. Just in case I would be at the pre-nursing orientation on Monday and hopefully get that HESI taken care of. Because I have completed all my prerequisites and general education courses, so all I have to do is the Hesi and apply.
The only thing I did hear is that getting into the program is very competitive but i guess that goes for most schools.
Yeah, I am just dying to know what my possibilites are of getting in. I am doing a total backtrack in my education. I graduated last May from the University of Florida with a B.A in Communication Sciences & Disorders. I already had all the pre-reqs done prior so I just need to score well on this HESI exam.
Did you try calling other campuses and seeing if they have room? I am in Ft. Myers but they had open seats at the Collier campus so I am just going to drive down there Friday. I just registered like two weeks ago too. Do you know how many seats are available for summer or fall? I am also putting down fall on my application just in case! I am new to Ft. Myers so I am just trying to get used to everything and I want to get into a program so bad!
Well, I just registered yesterday and she said the other campuses were just as full. But hopefully one seat will be open. However, I don't know how many seats there are for summer or fall, but I bet there would be more that last term due to the New Nursing building opening in the Fall which is really exciting to hear. well, I hope I do good on the HESI which I'm continuing to study and my GPA.
did you purchase the HESI study guide yet? It is really helpful and not too expensive!! And another good thing is that we dont need to test for chemistry or physics section! Well good luck studying and hopefully you can get a seat for the HESI in time!!!!
Yes, I did purchase it.
I find it pretty straight forward and easy to understand. Your right it's good we don't have to study chem and physics that would be more pressure. well, thanks and good luck on the HESI. Keep me posted if you hear anything else.
Yes, I definitely will! You as well. Like I said, I will be attending the orientation next Monday at the Lee campus so I'm sure I'll find out a ton more and maybe see you there if you attend!
hi, Did you attend the Pre-nursing orientation?
Well, I'm schedule to take the HESI exam on May 10 and I'm kind of stressing out about it.
Yep, I attented the orientation and let me tell you, they really let you know the competition. There is only 24 available seats for each campus. He said you have to do really well on the HESI exam because that weighs the most for points. Also, it really helps if you have all eight classes done prior because you get more points. I wouldnt stress too much about the HESI though, it wasnt that tough. But I will let you know that I did study from the study guide the whole time and there was not a lot of questions that were even mentioned in the study guide. At least that is how my test was! Also, they dont allow for any scratch paper and pencil but do allow for a calculator so just giving you a heads up! If you have any other questions, just ask!!!
Did they give you any idea on how many applicants apply? I heard there is as much as 400!!!!
well, that sounds discouraging . But, I'm thinking of applying to the collier campus for a better chance.
yes, he did say last year was around 400, and might be more this year! You have an option to list two campuses so thats good too. Just make sure you do well on the HESI but it is a pretty basic test.
