EDD for cancelled shifts

Published

I recently started at a hospital 2/10/20 and I’ve been getting canceled or flexed and I don’t have PTO yet so I’m losing a lot of money. Does anyone know if I can apply for the CV EDD for lost hours?

In general if you don’t work your usual schedule of assigned hours you can apply for unemployment and you are provided the difference between your unemployment award and usual wage for each week. This might be enhanced by some proration of the extra Covid $600. No idea how this will work. Hurry up and get involved with your application because you know the first week is a “waiting” week where you don’t get paid. In my state you can apply for unemployment online. They will call you if there are any questions about your application/employment status.
