ED Nursing - BCEN

Published

I'm interested in pursuing a BCEN certification after graduation - I'm wondering, for those of you who have taken the exam, what resources you used to study from? Recommendations?

Specializes in Hospital Education Coordinator.

check with that organization first to see if any clinical time is required for application. Many certs require 1-2 years experience. You cannot be an "expert" if you have never done it.

Specializes in Cardiac Telemetry, Emergency, SAFE.

BCEN does not "require" experience but they do recommend 2 years experience. The BCEN site has materials and practice questions available for purchase. I think a lot of the material will make more sense after youve worked for a while though I have a friend who took it and passed after 6 months as a full time ED nurse.
