Eclipsys Creates a Nursing I.T. Post

(October 2007) Hospital information systems vendor Eclipsys Corp. has named Victoria Bradley, R.N., as chief nursing informatics officer, a new position.

The Boca Raton, Fla.-based company for several years has had Jim Cato, R.N., serving as chief nursing officer. That position remains and will be augmented by Bradley's new post, according to a spokesperson.

Cato will continue to serve as an advocate for nurses, working with the nurse workforces at client hospitals to determine what they need. Bradley brings technical expertise and will focus on solutions development.

Bradley comes to Eclipsys from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, where she served as director of patient information. She led the hospital medical records department and was project director of an enterprisewide implementation of Eclipsys' clinical systems.

Bradley also presently serves as vice chair of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society in Chicago. More information is available at eclipsys.com.
