Easiest ABSN programs in FL to get in to?

What are the easiest and hardest ABSN Programs in Florida to get in to (from an admissions standpoint)? I'm considering: University of Miami, FAU, FIU, Utica in St. Petes, USF, Keiser, and others (open to more suggestions!).

Is it true that private colleges (University of Miami, Nova, etc) are easier to get in to than the state schools?

Also, is it easier to apply as a FL resident or a non-resident? Currently a resident of NY, but can change my residency to FL since I have family here.

Anyone familiar with FL schools, would love your input. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

From my understanding many of the Universities in Florida are competitive. I would suggest searching for the schools nursing stats and deciding from there. You must have a high GPA and good TEA's score in order to feel "safe". It doesn't hurt to try to apply to all, but I would suggest also applying to ASN or ASN-BSN bridge programs like UCF's if you aren't comfortable with your GPA. Some schools also require an interview, but not all.

Also search what prerequisites you need before applying to the school (it will save you money and time).

Good luck!
