Earn 40/hr on COVID units?

So I just got an opportunity from my school saying that they're paying 40/hr to student nurses to help during the pandemic and do "patient care services" through Kaiser hospitals in Southern California.

Is it worth it? What would you do?

That's a difficult question to answer without knowing anything about your personal circumstances.

Are you currently employed?

Do you need to work?

Do you have signifigant fears or concerns about working with covid patients?

I work at a small hospital in Southern California, and they are pretty desperate for support staff at the moment. The census has been high, and a lot of staff are quarantined and unavailable to come in.

My place has hired some students to work as CNAs, which I imagine is what you'd be doing for the most part. It's a good networking opportunity, I suppose ...but working short staffed all the time is not an easy thing.

Lately, I've been the only person staffed on my small unit. JUST me. No CNA, no charge nurse, no one to answer the phone, etc. On the rare occasion that someone gets assigned to help me out, I'm beyond grateful- even if they barely know what they're doing. You would certainly be appreciated.
