Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of applying to work at DRH, but have read some horrid nursing experiences about working there. I was wondering if anyone has worked there recently, and if it is still currently such a "dangerous" place to work regarding nurse-patient ratios. That information makes me nervous and hesitant about applying. I'd be interested in working in Critical Care, so if anyone has any specific information regarding that, I'd love to hear it.
Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!

i am from durham. i have had family treated in the critical care unit at DRH a few times, and in the more critical units it is 1:1. not sure about less critical floors but DRH is a good hospital and working in the Duke system is a great position to be in.

Hey,
Did you end up getting a job at Durham Regional Hospital? I was wondering if I should apply there or not. Not to a critical care unit though. Perhaps med-surg.
Thanks!

I've been a nurse for 20 years, spent about 3 years there leaving in 2010. Worst place I have EVER worked! Administration borders on psychotic. While I was there the head of the two person marketing team was made second in command of the hospital......ODD?? you think.....didn't effect me just the odd way things work there. Scary nursing practices. Would never in a million years allow any member of my family or friends to be treated there!
