Hi all! I'm hoping for some positive feedback here!
I got a DUI July 2020. My BAC was a .09. I paid all fines, court fees, mothers against drunk driving payments, 12 hour IDRC course (with documentation that I did not need any referrals or other alcohol related programs) and an Interlock device in my car for 3 months (I did not lose my license because of the new NJ law for DUIs/because my BAC was low). I Graduated from Nursing School June 2024, passed the NCLEX in August. It was November and I still had not received my license. I drove to the BON and they said they were missing documentation about my interlock. I asked why no one had informed me since I applied for my license 4 months ago? They told me they had a stack of applicants... anyways, I lost my job because I still had not received my license number. I wrote to the paralegal assigned to my case at the BON letting him know I was now unemployed. He told me I was on the agenda for discussion on the December 6th meeting and said they might refer me to RAMP? Has anyone been in the situation before?? Has anyone received their license in NJ with a previous DUI without being referred? I'm honestly sick over all of this. I was out of work all through nursing school and still out of work because I cannot get my license. I have read so many things on here of how expensive the program RAMP is and I beyond words of how I'm feeling. I just started a new job Monday December 2 and because the orientation is 2 weeks long in the classroom they actually let me start!! It's my dream job in the ER but they said if I do not get my license number by the 12th we can't proceed with my orientation. I have written the board a remorseful letter explaining my situation and being a single mom of 2 young girls (yes I know, they definitely don't care) and gave all my documents.
Any help or positive experiences are appreciated!! Thank you all 🙂
