I have been a GI nurse for 7 years now. We have always used steris for all our scopes. I know that it is cheaper to go the other route but in the long run you will have less damage to your scopes. Glutaraldehyde is terrible to your scopes. It will cake up inside the channels and possibly cover up and potential water invasion issues you may have. I obviously prefer Steris. We thought about changing to a Custom Ultrasonics AER and when I researched the Glutaraldehyde issues, we just purchased 2 new Steris.

Hi everyone,
I am new to the site and so glad I found it. I have a question about processing bronchoscopes. we currently use a steris for the bronch scopes and a DSD for egd/colon scopes. Our Olympus rep. is stating we can go to Dsd for all our scope processing but the MD'S are sceptical. Our role in the Bronch room is new so I would like to know how others are processing them.
Thanks EndoGirlJulie
