Drug Safety Associate

Is there any nurses out there that is currently working as a Drug Safety Associate? I like to get more information on this career path. I have been an RN for 7 years, and the last 2 years was in ICU. Unfortunately, I hurt my back and ended up with a herniated disc. I am looking to get out of bedside nursing and came across a job opening for Drug Safety Associate.

I would like to know if this is a good and stable career path to pursue. For those RN who went from bedside nursing into this, do you enjoy what you do? What does a regular day entail? From what I read so far, the position deals mostly with documenting adverse events. What do you enjoy most & least about this job? For those working in California, what is the average salary range? Is there any potential for growth in this career path? Is there job security?

I am interested in shadowing a Drug Safety Associate or manager for a day. I would like to know if there is anyone in California, preferably in SF bay area, who would be willing to offer me this opportunity. I would really appreciate any one who can provide me with any feedback on this matter or any suggestions on other career path that I can pursue.
