I am starting my nursing classes the first week of Sept. I was wondering if I need the newer versions of Davis's for school? Our instructor said we didn't have to ... in fact in the school bookstore they have the 2008 version (20th ed.) which I didn't buy because the price for these were ridiculous. Also what are the benefits of the CD ROM vs no CD ROM?
Please help...thanks.

Do you need it for class? You can grab a new version at barnes and noble. If you have a smartphone download the app epocrates. Updates frequently and has the most variety. My instructors would borrow my phone when drugs were too old/new to be in the books even! I love it and has all the info a drug book does plus if you just use the drug book part of the app its free! It would b a good option if you do not need it in the classroom but instructers tend to frown on phones in school
Yes it is a required book for class.

I would use the old one. Not much changes in a year. You can always check online whether on your phone or hospitals usually have online resources. Save your money.
