So how bad is the drive from Fort Collins to Denver? Is it doable so that I could finish nursing school?

I personally would not want to do it but for me it would depend on how many days per week I would have to do it and how much time I had left in NS. Depending on where you have to be in Denver it is at least 1-1.25 hours in no traffic, each way. If you can bid for clinicals that are in hospitals that are farther north then that would be helpful but I don't know how your school works that. Good luck!

Hate to be a downer, but I wouldn't be able to do it every day. It's a four lane (badly maintained) road most of the way, heavily traveled by 18-wheelers, and one of the more dangerous stretches of highway in the state.
JMO, but...I would approach with extreme caution. Good luck!!!

I do this drive once a week; 65 miles, about an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half depending on traffic. I admit, I wouldn't want to do it each day.
There are van pools and car pools between Fort Collins and Denver that can make the trip substantially easier and cheaper. My partner used one for four years and napped on the van each way, when he didn't drive.
