Drexel vs. Chamberlain RN-to-BSN

Updated:   Published

Hi there!

Was wondering what your experiences have been with either Drexel University Online or Chamberlain for the RN-to-BSN program? Is there another school you'd recommend or have more experience with? And did you go full-time or part-time? Is the course-load doable while working full-time? Please list any or all experiences. Would greatly appreciate any feedback! Thank you very much!

I just recently found out about Drexel and am planning to look into it further. I have checked into Chamberlain and they do a lot of attacking on other programs if you mention that you are looking into other places. I also have a colleague who just finished her BSN with Chamberlain and her only complaint was very pricey and cost her almost 45K. I wish you luck in your search :coollook:

I did Chamberlain for a semester (2 classes), and it was actually a pretty good experience. The classes are simple and organized. I had to switch to a different online rn-bsn school because of the insane pricing: >$500/credit (after fees), not including the textbooks they force you to buy in e-format (full price, of course).

To summarize, it's simple, easy (got 2 A's), but ultra-expensive.

Oh, and if you're looking into this school, don't let them know until you're sure you want to join. The "academic advisors" are very aggressive salesmen.

I had a problem when I reached the statisics class requirements through DeVry (some classes are through DeVry University)during the first week of statistics. I called my advisor to drop the class and she told me she took it 3 times before she passed. I dropped it but had hell to pay with the school as they still won't release my records even though I have a great GPA. They state I dropped too late, even though it was the first week. Also, not true they have no required online class chats. These are required Monday through Wednesday. Chamberlain professors are good, DeVry has issues with it's ciriculum and they are not geared toward nursing. Now I feel I wasted my money and time with Chamberlain. I would choosse another school.

I am at Chamberlain now and will be done in June of this year! Yay! Only had to take 10 classes, it is expensive, $575/credit hour, but to me it seamed to cut out some BS classes and I like how they are set up- but I have no expierence anywhere else.

Same here. Only had to take 10 classes. Yes, expensive per credit hour but not too far away from what I was quoted elsewhere. Arizona State University RN-BSN, for example, was going to cost around $25,000 with fees. I read many, many posts here before enrolling that talked about how at other schools it is less expensive but more classes so something to think about. That said, I spoke with a friend of mine who had researched other schools around me and I ultimately decided on Chamberlain. I am afraid of Statistics though, lol, I think I'll have to look into taking that in person somewhere! Good Luck!

Hello,

Did you have to take the Statistics Math 221? I've been putting that off..... Thank You
