I have just completed my MSN with Drexel but in the ACNP tract, I do however, know a few of the students who just graduated from the psych/MH NP tract and have been told it was a good program. My education was challenging and I doubt this tract is any different. Good luck in your decision making! :)
Congrats on being accepted......I worked full time up until the clinical courses started.
Many of the students in my class went perdiem.
During the 1st two clinical courses, I was able to work but not full time, and during the last 2 semesters it did get intense and even that was starting to be difficult.
In my case, my facility had what they call educational leave of absence and so I took this and this allowed me to work less than my committment without it causing issues. I tried not to use any PTO at all during my program so that toward the end when i needed it, it was available to tap into. The clinical year will be the most stressful of all but its worth it in the end.
Good luck to you!
Hey congrats on ur acceptance mtsteelhorse. Guess we will be classmates......Finally[/quoteThank you! I have to figure out all the logistics. Have you heard anymore about fall classes? I applied to the bridge program so I have to see where I go from here. I'm pretty excited just to know I was accepted!:)
Good luck!! I wanted to go to Drexel 2 years ago!! However, they want me to do clinical in the surrounding states only. So I ended up going to a local state school with on ground class because tuition is cheaper... Glad I did. Otherwise, I would have more debt now.. since we don't really get paid that well as an PMHNP anyway. And I don't have to look around for preceptors which are hard to find in my area.
When I applied, the program director seems to care about me though :)
