Is anyone out there drawing mixed venous gases from PICC's?????

A true SVo2 needs to be drawn from the distal port on the PA catheter. If drawn from a PICC, it's a ScVO2. The two numbers are very closely related and there was a study published in the journal of critical care medicine some time ago that stated the numbers are interchangeable.
Just a matter of semantics, I guess...
I know it is a central line mixed venous but was unsure if the numbers were valid and if there were problems drawing because of the length/size/etc of the cath.
