DOUGLAS COLLEGE Winter 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Has anyone heard anything or received anything for the Winter 2021 class start?

Check your application account, if it doesn’t say program full, requirements met and if you don’t receive an email as well then you should contact rosemary at [email protected] , she did however say to me in her email that she was going to finish all of the acceptances by August 28th. I don’t know what that meant but email her for more info

Thanks! She just got back to me so for anyone else who is still waiting for a response she said that their goal is to have all the applications finalized before applications open on the first of October.

Has anyone finished their prerequisites for nursing applicants for Winter 2021? (For example, Immunization form)

I have everything done and scheduled except for the polio and TB test. Has anyone found out where to get the polio booster vaccine? The public health unit is not doing non-essential vaccines right now and told me to go to the pharmacy and the pharmacy told me to go to the health unit, so I don't know what to do.

Same situation here. The TB can be done to a travel clinic but I am not sure about the polio booster. Has anyone found out where can you get it done?

I went back to the health unit and they said that the travel clinic can do the polio vaccine too, and I am just getting them at the same time this week

which travel clinic? I went to the one in Mission for the TB and they are not doing Polio. But I am still not clear, everyone needs the polio booster?

I'm in Coquitlam and the TMVC clinic here is closed for Covid-19. I know Burnaby is doing them. My doctor even wasn't sure why we would need one, but you wouldn't have had a polio shot in over 10 years considering they only do them when you are a baby, it guess we all need one?

Thanks a lot. I am just on the phone with the travel clinic in Langley and they are able to do it and it seems they have different locations too. Ph. 604-888-6434 in case anybody needs it. Cheers!

Everyone message me on facebook: Sukhman Phangura saying “I am from all nurses” if you want to be a part of a group chat where we can easily talk and help each other through online nursing school! I am getting my polio booster and TB skin test at passport health Burnaby.

Hi everyone,

What is the process for applying to the nursing program after finishing the foundations certificate? What is the competition like?

You wait two years and then you apply every intake for those two years until you get in. It’s not really competitive unless it’s between two people for the last spot.
