UK: Assurances That The Swine Flu Jab Will `Arrive On Time'
http://afludiary.blogspot.com/2009/07/uk-assurances-that-swine-flu-jab-will.html
Just what are they promising? That is the question. How many doses in the August batch, and who gets it? They are being very vague about this. I can understand why. The answers are not likely to be very reassuring to the general public.
Yesterday comments by the Director-General of the World Health Organization - Margaret Chan - stating that any licensed swine flu vaccine was still `months away' made headlines in the UK. The UK government has been promising a `vaccine as early as August' for a number of weeks, and understandably, Ms. Chan's comments caused a bit of a stir.Today, Her Majesty's Government once again reiterated their position that the vaccine was due to `arrive' on time. After that, the statement becomes a bit murky, with less than precise language regarding how much vaccine will be delivered and when, how soon jabs will begin, and how many people will actually receive them in the first few months.
