Don't get residency points, will it be harder to get accepted?

Published

Unfortunately my school that I am enrolled now doesn't give priority points to their own students.

I looked into other BSN programs and about 75% of them give 4-6 points to nursing students who are living in the city or is currently a student there. That means if I apply there and don't get those 4-6 points, I will have a disadvantage compared to students living there.

Do you really think this matters or will hurt transfer students' chances?

Personally I have solid grades 4.0 pre-requisite science & math GPA and will take the TEAS. But I'm still worried that I might not do excellent on the TEAS PLUS not having advantage residency points.

You never know unless you apply, especially because residency is something you can't really control, unless you transfer to another school as a pre nursing student still just so you may get residency points (which is still a risk). Apply to a number of schools & kick butt on your TEAS. You have a great GPA which still may give you an advantage. Good luck.

Thanks, worth a try I suppose...

Anyone else got accepted even without residency points?
