Donning Sterile Gloves

Can anyone give me some tips on how to don sterile gloves when they come folded so strangely? I am new to this technique and have had some practice in the lab. The gloves at my clinical site are folded in a way that I can hardly see where the cuff is. The fingers are all wadded up. My instructor says "Don't shake them". Are there brands of gloves that come folded in a decent way? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Have a good day.:banghead:

Thanks

What you have to do is use one finger to poke at them in a spot that you know is the inside nonsterile part of the glove so you can move the glove around to get it in a position where you can get it on. If you have to, pick the whole wrapper and gloves up by placing your hands underneath the wrapper they are in and cupping the whole shebang and gently shaking them a bit to move them around until you can find a part where you can put one finger or your hand into. Then, use your finger like a stick to move the glove around until one glove is positioned so the cuff is visable and accessible. Another thing you can do is pinch up a part of the wrapper from the outside using it as a cover over your fingers (the inside part of the wrapper is sterile) to pick at and move the gloves around on the inside of the wrapper so you can get at least one of them in a position you want. All parts of the inner package are sterile. Use that as a tool to help you get the gloves inside aligned if you need to. This is one of those things about nursing where being dexterous with your hands and fingers really helps!
