DON from hell.

i work at a ltc facility that recently underwent owner change, name change, management change and constant staffing changes (quitting, firing, etc.)

the new don is a b---- from hell. rude. doesn't listen. manipulative.

one of the best nurses i've ever met knew the don from a previous job he'd had. he told us all he'd be canned soon since he knew "how she really is" the first day we found out who our new don would be. that was exactly one month ago and just last week that nurse was fired.

i don't understand how this is allowed to happen! he was the best nurse i've ever met! knew all the patients very well and had worked at this facility for many years. he was great!

2 weeks ago, the don hired a very strange, know-it-all, in your face nurse. this nurse is ridiculous. she makes many many mistakes (including med errors) that other nurses have to clean up later and then explain to family members. why is she still working?? i don't know, but she walks around bragging she is "friends with the don".. i don't think this is very fair, do you?

it just boils my blood that now that this new don is here making all kinds of crazy changes, things are going down the toilet..

start looking for another place to work. sad to say but this don might be like a tick and burrow her way in and may not be removed unless the state comes in and hates her performance and the owners decide to fire her on the spot. until then... you might be next.

i do not get why the good nurse you knew stayed when he found out about her... i have had very bad supervisors in the past and there is no way in the world i would continue to work at a place that hired and promoted them over me again. may be he had hopes that she had changed ... i have no such hopes of poor managers. besides, the person who she brought in to replace him sounds crazy! that crazy nurse probably has been fired or ran out of many places until now. she too will burrow herself in for the long haul... some people are clueless at how bad or crazy they actually are.... start packing now!
