Anyone applying to Dominican University of California for their BSN? When do we send in transcripts? Is it after we submit our application or before?

Hey @ANunes I was sticker shock too when I got into SMU. It’s $53k per year ($106k for just tuition for two years) but after financial aid (Federal loans, pell grants) and SMU scholarship ($5k). I won’t need to take out any private loans.
don’t worry about the cost, it’s an investment in your education, boyfriend was able to pay off his loans in two years and it was $120k for his BSN!
apply for scholarships as soon as you get that in from DU. You’ll do great!!
@baayRNdo you have any pre-reqs in progress? Can you retake any of your classes to get a higher cumulative GPA or have someone read your personal statement? Have you studied to take the TEAS? It allows you to apply for other schools - state and other private universities?

Hi! No I’m pretty much done! I’ve applied to a few community colleges as well. Took the TEAS already. And yes I had a few people read it and they said it was great. But we’ll see! Honestly, if I don’t get in anywhere this round. I will just be doing Nightingale College which starts in May. I was told it would be about $57k for the whole program.
also I think Dominican is done reviews apps. Maybe people who didn’t get in don’t get an update? LOL

Yes, I agree, but unfortunately, I have friends in the Dominican program and they are not very happy, this also discourages me.

You’ll get an update whether it’s good, bad, or meh. I got admitted to their school last application round with $20k merit scholarship but not into the BSN program (that was meh notification).
Don’t worry you’ll get in somewhere. This was my second time applying to DU, and I still didn’t get in. ? It’s just a matter of time! You’ll be admitted somewhere!
if you haven’t already, start looking for somewhere to do your BLS certification. I did mine through my junior college. Most schools require it going in.
I also did medical terminology and health science vocabulary to help boost my GPA.

oh I wonder why they aren’t happy? Please don’t get discouraged, did you apply at SMU too? I think their next application round is 12/15 — but has a few other classes needed for pre-reqs.
what’s your stat and did you take TEAS?
He went to a Christian private college in Redding, CA. Simpson University. He’s been a nurse for 8-9 years (he’s turning 33). He got his NP at Grand Canyon and then currently getting his DNP.
currently, works in ED/surgery/trauma.

No, I did not apply for SMU, I am missing a bunch of classes for their program.
And I have not taken the TEAS yet.
Oh, it is probably a good school!
I have a good GPA now, but I won't have much time to study for the TEAS.. that is why I am in a dilemma haha
