Recruiter offering take home of 1300 per week. Out of that I have to pay housing. This is in Calif. They are offering 1000 completion bonus at end of 10 week contract. I appreciate any feedback. Thx.

Depending on what unit you are working & how much the housing costs it sounds OK. Maybe tell them to keep the bonus and pay you $2/hr more.

I make more than that as a traveler in the southeast where the pay and conditions are the worst. That is really scary because I thought Cali always paid well. Think I will stay here.

$1300 a week and I pay housing is about what I get on almost every contract. I have had offers higher but very remote places(ND, SD, Iowa)
Housing can be cheap anywhere if you arent expecting the Hilton. If you pay $700-$800 a month housing your still coming out higher than a local job. My home state is Pa, I live in Charleston SC for the most part and I can tell you from experience..they arent paying near that in either of those places.
Now Cali is suppose to be around $40 an hour from what I am told....have you checked with other agencies?
