Does the Navy Recruit mental health nurses

My question is in the title. I'm interested in joining the reserves, however, I wonder just how needed my specialty is to the navy.

Generally speaking in the military health system, there is a need but it's small, niche market. Mental health nurses are only used in inpatient mental health units. There are very few of those in the military health system. More often than not, you're going to be pushed into non-mental health positions: family health clinics, med-surg, etc. Certainly this will be the case for any deployment, since of course there are no deployed inpatient psychiatric beds.
