Does National Accreditation Matter

Okay so I have literally searched over a hundred different schools, any damn where in United States, I just want to do it as soon as possible. I have looked into some of the best and most reputable such as Mount Saint Mary College and something awful like San Brown Institute. The crazy part is Mount Saint Mary College is not NLNAC accredited. I was Shocked to see that. With further research I found out that many cal states and even ucla is not accredited through NLNAC, I might be wrong feel free to correct me, but all of them say approved by board of nursing california and so on.

So My question is:

What if I attend a school which is only approved by the Board of Nursing of that particular state, and pass my Nclex-RN, will I be able to work in Seattle or outside of that particular state? (because that is my dream destination to live)

Is only the RN license required to get work in any state?

I heard that you can go to school wherever but when you register for the test you can put seattle, is that correct? (i think it isn't)

NLNAC accredits LPN, Diploma, or ADN programs. If a school does not have NLNAC accreditation, it is my understanding that they need to be CCNE accredited, or the student will not be able to obtain financial aid attending that institution.

All the schools I am looking at are providing Financial Aid and they are accredited in other areas, I am just wondering will I be able to work in any state or its just that if a program is accredited only through its board, I will not be able to work under any board but that particular state's board..

Maybe call some HR departments in the state you're interested in and see what they have to say? I know, not much of an answer, but you'd get info straight from the horse's mouth.

you will want to attend a school that is nlnac or ccne accredited. some employers are now requiring that nurses who are hired are graduates from programs accredited by either of the two accrediting bodies mentioned above. also, if in the future you want to pursue and advance degree, most graduate programs also require a bsn from an nlnac or ccne accredited program.

upon graduation, you are permitted to apply for licensure in any state.

once you have earned your rn licensure, you may work in any state you choose. we “endorse” in other states. look at different state board websites. you will see two kinds of applications; licensure by examination and licensure by endorsement.

once you are an rn, you can apply to any state by endorsement.

this is true. so, you can earn your degree in california, complete the application for the state of washington to sit for nclex, sit for your nclex exam in california and be awarded an rn license for the state of washington (providing you pass nclex). some states do have additional requirements. for example, prior to receiving your rn license in kentucky, a certain number of working hours is required as a graduate nurse (if i read their website correctly). as always, i encourage those seeking licensure in a different state than where they graduated to contact the state board of nursing (in the state where they are seeking licensure) for additional requirements (if any).
