Does your college use custom books?

My college has been moving more and more toward "custom" books and packages. A lot of time there are required materials packaged with the books that can only be gotten by buying the whole package, and half the time there are no used versions available. It is making it harder and sometimes impossible to get my books online. Supposedly "custom" books are suppose to be an advantage to students because they claim they are cheaper. In fact they are just as expensive as the regular editions and now I can't get a used one. Is anyone else having this issue at their college?

I've had two in 14 classes, but both times the custom was not available used and was a crappy book quality wise to boot.
