Doctors reckon not...nurses do. What do you say from your experience?

I work in med/surg and have given many transfusions over the last 3 years. I have not noticed any change in nausea after a transfusion. But I may pay closer attention now that you mentioned it!

I could see how maybe it possibly could decrease nausea as the patient usually feels better after transfusion. I will keep my eyes open.

Interesting. I do know that both hemolytic and anaphylactic transfusion reactions can actually cause nausea.

Its the fluid bolus that helps with nausea, at least post-op as I see it. I don't know if this has been proven, but fluids seem to help alot for this population. So possibly its the volume expansion?
