Does Anyone Use Student Loan $ For Childcare?

Published

So I just filled out my FAFSA and hopefully I will get something back but I was curious for those of you with kiddos, go you use some of your student loan money to help with the cost of childcare?

Thank you!!

Cheryl

Yep, that is the only way we can afford it! I hate that we will be racking up higher debt, but we were uneligble for help through student services so it was our only option.

Any money that is awarded to you will go to your school first to pay your tuition and any other costs you might have incurred (books and supplies from the book store). After the school takes their share they will send you a check. You can use that money for ANYTHING you want. It's all yours. I usually use mine to pay off my credit card each term. It seems I have become addicted to PDA software.

Yes, that's what it is for. You can actually have your budget increased due to dependent care and get more money, if you have more sources to get it from.

My good friend just started our ADN program and she had to get a student loan to pay for daycare. She has a 2 year old and 9 month old that go to the campus daycare center 4 days a week.
