Does anyone have any recommended NCLEX style textbooks that I can start looking for

Published

My first semester of nursing school is almost done, assuming I pass my finals; however, personally I don't think any of our tests have been exactly NCLEX style or to even prepare us for NCLEX & I hear next semester, the instructors in my program really give us questions like that.

Some students this semester are under the impression, we have had NCLEX style questions on our test; however, I'm not because I can easily find the answer most of the times & we just took our Fundamentals ATI exit exam test last week, & only about 8 people including myself passed out of 64 students with only one of them getting a level 3, the the other 7 getting a level 2.

Specializes in L&D, infusion, urology.

I've heard good things about Saunders, and I'm currently going through the Kaplan Content Review to prep for the NCLEX. It might have been good to have during school, but I've heard from multiple people that Saunders has been helpful during school.

Specializes in ICU.

I love, love, love Saunders for this. I use practice questions and rationales as my way to study for all my exams, I think it's great. I also have used Med Surg Success this semester-- it is solely NCLEX style questions by topic, and there's a whole "success" series. I recommend both or either of these. The one advantage of Saunders is the online portion, I like being able to do my questions on the computer rather than on paper, so that is definitely a plus.
