Hi guys,

I plan to move from Philly to ATL Jan 2014 and I am trying to find a good place to begin my nursing education (I am doing most of my prereqs here at Community College of Phila.) So, my question is, does anyone know of a good evening nursing program in Atlanta? I've been looking at GSU, but it doesn't mention anything about evenings, so I am assuming its a day program. Also, does anyone know the name of the local community college (so that I can finish these last 2 or 3 prereqs.) I am a medical assistant, and am pretty sure that I will end up working during the day, so only my nights (and hopefully) wknds are free. Any insight is appreciated! TY. =)

I know that there is usually a waiting list and high standards for the nursing schools in the Atlanta area. I had a friend that got into Kennesaw State only because she had a 4.0 in her Science pre-reqs because there are so many applicants. I actually moved to Pennsylvania to get into nursing school. Not sure about evening classes but there are very few or it takes a lot longer.

Look into Brenau University. They're a private school and outside of Atlanta, but I'm pretty sure they have a part-time evening program.

As for CC, there are a bunch. Check the GA BON list and see which are closest to where you'll be: http://sos.georgia.gov/plb/rn/RN%20School%20Directory.pdf .
