I am a new graduate RN and like all others I am searching for a New grad RN position. I came across Mercy Medical Center in Merced Ca which has a few positions open and available to new grads. I was wondering if anyone has information on the hospital in general and if it is a good place for nurses...if you have any other info regarding salary or relocation reimbursement that info would be great too. Any information at all would be very much appreciated.
i heard from them this week. they offered me an interview, but i have an in-person interview in LA on the same day 2 hours later that was scheduled last week. i offered to go on other days of the week, but the nurse manager was said to be not available on those other days. so... they offered me a phone interview. if anything, i think i would prefer to move to merced than LA... can't stand the LA traffic, smog, etc. but i guess i'll have to see how they both go....
I have agreed to a tenative travel contract at Mercy, Merced. I looked it up on the map as I am currently at kaiser, Oakland. It seems to be in the middle of nowhere but I am going to take the position anyway. I am eager for the travel experience , as it will be my 2nd travel position in Ca. Plus , It is a brand new hospital so I am hoping to get some additional training and continuing education. I will post more from the job. Wish me luck.
