Does anyone here go to Thomas Edison of NJ?

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hello I just graduated from nursing school and have been looking into their program. Is anyone currently enrolled and if you woundn't mind telling you experience..Someone told me that that when you take exams with them you have to have a web cam and they watch you..is that true?

Thanks

I took a few classes with them to finish my first bachelor's degree. It was not in nursing, however, so I can't speak about that program.

Anyway, when I went (a few years ago) they had proctored mid-terms ( I did mine at a local CC). The finals were not proctored - just the honor system. However, I know they were talking about the web-cam thing before I graduated.

Overall, it was a great value and I think the level of instruction was good for online education. They've been doing it a lot longer than most schools and so they've got all the bugs worked out. The best part is that they are a state university and have full accreditation. There will be no issues that sometime come up with for-profit schools.

Good luck.

I graduated from TESC in December 2010 from the RN to BSN program and it was fantastic. No online exams but tons of papers required. Some self scheduled "clinicals" requiring research and interviews. I really enjoyed the program, learned loads of pertinent info related to my nursing practice and made friends for life. The instructors, called mentors, were very knowledgeable. I would love to get my MSN there but not sure I can afford it. I am now looking at Aspen University.

I work full time do you think it is possible to take 2 to 3 classes per term.
