There are some postings here that state this school might loose its accrediting from the AZ BON. Does anyone have any reliable sources for this information??
I am applying to Ethel Bauer, as well as Pima, and have a pretty darn good chance at entrance at Pima Medical. But due to life, and the fact that E.B. is 13k cheaper, and has classes m-th instead of m-f, I am attracted to EB. Obviously if EB is going to loose its accredidation, I need to go with PMI, or even if its accredidation is in jeopardy!! Does anyone know where I could find out if this information is reliable??
Thanks!!

Thanks for writing this, I would really appreciate the information also. This process of what school to go to, how long a wait, good teachers, bad teachers, what pathway, the decision making process is often daunting for some of us pre-nursing students, especialy if you are in the process of finishing up prerequisites. There is so much information that is shared in this forum and it is greatly appreciated and helps with making a good decision.
But...
Something that is as critical as losing your accreditation is important for those in the process of making a decision and those whom are attending the school. I really would like something that is definitive.
So I appreciate any and all feedback that is given.
Thanks

After reading this, and another more recent, post mentioning EBSN possibly losing their AZBN approval - I contacted the AZ Board of Nursing directly and spoke with their Education Director who stated that EBSN's approval is in good standing and there is no consideration, currently, for revoking the approval of their program. She also walked me through the process when a program is being considered for having their approval revoked. Bottom line - if you are already in a program and that program's approval is revoked - it will not affect your (the current student's) consideration for licensure after completing the program.
"Rumors" are never a good thing - in my opinion!

my fiance and i went there--now we both have our licenses and work for Mayo!
would i recommend EBSN at this point? no. i was in their second grad class and only 68% of my class passed NCLEX. but, then again, that's how things are going at apollo and some of the other newer private schools. they have quite a bit of growing pains to work out.
i would, however, recommend the Banner Fellows program, as you are brought up in the banner system and it sounds like they are a strong program.
Also, i am looking into RN-BSN programs, so far University of Phoenix and Grand Canyon are accepting our credits. (because it's new and not NLN yet). Also, Scottsdale Healthcare systems will not employ our grads or grads from new non-NLN schools. something to think about.....
Good luck you guys!:balloons:

Thank you for your first hand honest experience with ESBN. As I said previously it is a daunting and frustrating experience in this market for Pre-Nursing students when trying to make the best decision for yourself in which Nursing pathway to follow. I appreciate your information.
Best.
don't get me wrong, you will have good clinical experience at EBSN, i had clinicals at county, the VA, mayo, del webb, boswell, healthsouth, jcl, the clinicals were great. however, the curriculum was very disorganized. the teachers came and went. they have a new director now.
The AZ board of nursing is finding problems with all nursing schools that are new in the valley. however, like someone mentioned earlier, if you have completed the program and are licensed (like me), you won't lose your license if the school was to fold.
seriously, look into abrazo's RN diploma program, st. joes, and banner's RN programs. you will come out owing them a few years of work, but you will not have the mountain of debt (22,000+).
i know that the maricopa community colleges have a long wait, lottery system--but it's reasonably priced and well-respected to come from those schools.
i wish you all well. stay focused on your goals and do what is best for you.
