I worked for them for 1 1/2 years, on their sub-acute unit. Great charge nurses! I can't say enough about how capable and sharp these charge nurses are on the sub-acute unit. That being said, it was ALWAYS very busy there. They take high-acuity patients on a regular basis. Lots of IV abt, lots of wound care, had a couple of TPN patients, heck I was always learning something new. If that' s the atmosphere you thrive in, you'll do well there. If you want a smooth ride & lunch breaks, well..........not that kind of place. At least not when I worked there. Good luck!

thank you, but why did you leave, was it the pay? What about the nurse/pt ratio.,and CNA/pt ratio What about the shift supervisor, do they help? Thanks
I actually really liked the team mentality there, at the time I was there. Sometimes the ratio was bad, like 20 patients per nurse on a sub-acute floor can be a bit much. The CNA's were among the best I've worked with, for the most part. I left because I'm studying for my RN and I was working a real lot of hours there (never really got out on time). Right now I'm in a much less stressful setting and always get out on time, plus lots of down time to study. I would go back there when I finish my studies though.
I currently work for Genesis. I have found that in the month + that i have worked for the facility that i am at, the higher ups have been wonderful with answering questions and helping me to get my bearings. Being a new nurse that has done alot to ease my anxiety. The atmosphere is also really good, the other nurses have been very welcoming and very willing to help me learn. Dont know if thats how it is in all the facilities, but i cant help but think that it says something for the company, hope this helps.
