Docs as nurses?

Published

Hi guys... Would like to know your honest opinion, on the present trend of MDs shifting to be nurses, and going overseas to become nightingales.By now, most of us in the Philippines are aware of this phenomena, please feel free to share your views,of how a medical degree became a prerequisite to a nursing degree:) Share your experiences if you work with any so called "nurse -medics"..andif you are one, how is it working as a nurse by the way???

Thanks guys... Just like to have some insights on the matter:wink2:

IS it true that last year or this year is the last year for the MD>RN program? i heard the country's really restricting those programs and that starting as soon as next year MDs would have to take the whole 3-4 years of the regular program? thx.

docs as nurses? i say "why not?" it's the person's decision. for sometime, i felt it was..duh....(you trained to give the orders and now you're training to take the orders) but i figure, people are just different...values and all. i learned to accept the peculiar trend easily this way. just a few months ago, i met a pinoy who graduated with a decent law degree. he's now taking nursing here in the us. and he's perfectly happy with his decision. who's to question him?? oh life, parang buhay...

You are right!!!!

Hi! i'm new to this post and would like to extend my warmest regards to all

.. I don't know where to put this and this was the closest topic I could find soory  ... anyway, I have this problem, i'm currently a medical intern, nursing was my pre-med. I'm also a registered nurse and have passed the CGFNS and IELTS.. I'm planning to apply to an agency to work in the states as a nurse.. however, there's a 1-2 year/s experience requirement for most of them (which I have none).. I went to med school immediately after nursing school  ...

Could anyone please help me if you know an agency which doesn't require work experience  ..

What should I do? hellpp

:uhoh3:

A lot of hospitals dont require experience anymore. They have new graduate training for job applicants. They like it more if you're an mdrn because you already have the critical thinking. if you dont have a tourist visa, just look for a reputable nursing agency.
